Re: Magma BBQ Grill
Joe Hanson
Thank you all for the replies. I had not thought to look at the rod holder or building an extender. Excellent ideas.
On my stern railing I have the outboard motor mount (starboard) and GPS antenna’s (port and starboard)….
Clearly doable.

Here's something I did that worked out well and was easy to do.
I mounted the grill as far back as I could off the stern rails so I would maintain as much cockpit space and wouldn't drip grease on my seats. And I made a support strut using bimini connector fittings. It came out really solid. I also have the Magma - Serving Shelf that I set utensils on. It stores nicely in the propane tank compartment when not in use. - ALLEN C400 1999 Mk1, #154, San Diego

Here's our setup. It's a very poor picture, but the only one that shows our mounting.
The base mounts on the flat area just to the side of the port, aft locker. The hoist actually goes through the seat (there's a hole cut for it), then has an upper attachment on the upper rail. It can swivel to get to the engine mounting location next to it. -- Bret JoyRide, #205 Bellevue, WA

Re: Garhauer outboard hoist...
We had Garhauer also and I can't say enough positive about the organization and their products (and prices). I must confess I lucked into this location for the lift but it worked great. We kept the 9.9 on the dinghy a large majority of the time (99 percent!!). When we lifted and carried the dinghy it was supported in 3 places at all times. In this picture it is up half way just to get prop out of the water between dinghy trips. Dan Bliss #106 Mk I Brunelle (usta be outs)

Former owner here (2002 #251) but still lurk on the group. I installed a Garhauer on the stern rail with a lot of help from the folks at the company. I might suggest you contact them directly and listen to what they have to say. When I did ours they actually
called me after they shipped the unit and insisted they send an additional support bracket to ensure there were not going to be any issues. Awesome customer service and the price was reasonable.

Not a great shot but shows not only the OB hoist (left center) but the arch on Magic with solar panels and dingy hoist in place.

Hi
I installed a stainless outfitters motor hoist on the starboard side. I don’t know how different this is from the Garhauer, but it works well. Attached is a picture. Note that I also added a structural support to the rail for added strength.
Cheers

The PO installed it on the stern of the boat. The ball is mounted port side of the locker on the swim platform. I will try to remember to take a picture where the ball is mounted when we are at the boat Sunday.

ISO spare dinette filler cushion in dark blue
Jonathan Walker
Greetings!
I have a MKII with the dark blue interior with pattern and have found that this fabric is no longer available. I have spoken with both JSI in St Pete who made my boats cushions and also Hilario who does most of Catalina's cushions. Neither can get the fabric. Before ordering a dinette filler cushion to convert the main salon's table into a sleeping unit in a non matching fabric, I thought I would check to see if any of the members here had a spare or one they have no intention of using. Color would be flexible but I would really like the matching fabric. Attached is the fabric color/pattern on top of the dinette table I am looking for the filler for. Thanks for reading! -Jonathan -Verandah hull #209

Garhauer outboard hoist...

I've been trying to figure out where to mount a Garhauer outboard engine hoist. The only place I've come up with is immediately ahead of the port stern cleat.
Anyone done this and found other workable possibilities? C400 #299 TASSIA

I know very little about these systems. As others have suggested, cleaning the terminals might be a good place to start. A bad cooling fan can also cause the compressor to fail to start. My boat broker helps me with my refer systems and showed me how to do some of the basics. Lance
